SOHO Solo Membership is really quite straightforward – and we’re working to make it even easier, but for now here’s what’s involved.

To join, check the eligibility criteria below, then, if you qualify, simply add your profile on the SOHO Solo Ireland site, and the SOHO Solo Helpdesk will be in touch with all the relevant details.

Eligibility

The original eligibility criteria for membership stem from rules imposed by the EU during the original funded pilot project… at present these are still loosely in force, although they are applied with a failry relaxed interpretation.

SOHO Solo membership is open to:

  • Anyone who has moved into (or back to) the catchment area (Cork/Kerry) bringing their own income generating activity with them. In practice that means either running your own business from home or a small office, or working for your employer from home for at least two days a week. The interpretation of “moved into the area” is fairly fluid too. So if you’re from the area originally, but moved away at some point in your career, and have now returned to run your own business, you’re likely to qualify.

and

  • uses modern technology to help them in their work/business. Which these days incorporates pretty much everyone.

That, basically, is it!

So, SOHO Solo Membership is open to a broad swathe of small business owners and SOHO workers throughout Ireland’s South West. If you’re one of them, why not sign up today?

Remember, you can attend up to two SOHO Solo meetings without joining – so feel free to come along to our next meeting for a coffee and a chat, and to find out what SOHO Solo can offer for you and your business.

Cost and Benefits of Membership

SOHO Solo is a not-for-profit organisation that is all about adding value for members. In mid 2008 the fee structure changed from a €5 per meeting charge to a single, annual membership fee to cover meeting venue and refreshments charges.

The single charge is more convenient for everybody, and you get so much more:

Full membership costs €75 per annum and includes:

  • Attendance to any of the SOHO Solo meetings in West Cork (monthly), Cork City (fortnightly) and/or Kerry (monthly)
  • Your business profile on the SOHO Solo Ireland Website
  • Free / Discounted entry to selected events, seminars and conferences hosted by SOHO Solo and partner organisations like CorkBIC, the City and County Enterprise Boards and others.
  • Your blog and/or website listed on the SOHO Solo Ireland and/or SOHO Solo West Cork blogs
  • The opportunity to contribute articles/posts to the SOHO Solo West Cork blog and engage proactively online through social media
  • Business networking opportunities with your SOHO Solo Peers
  • A forum to avail of the expertise and experience of other SOHO Solo members
  • Access to exclusive member-requested SOHO Solo Training events.
  • … and much more besides.

Associate membership costs just €40 per annum and includes all of the above, but limits attendance to a maximum of 4 meetings in any given year.

Join SOHO solo today…. because Solo doesn’t have to mean “on your own”!
